In our research, we try to minimize the use of animals. However, as Dala Lama mentioned in his inaugurate speech the use of animals sometimes is absolutely necessary in the road to alleviate human pain.
In order to minimize the use of animals we are using advance nano technologies to model human diseases in vitro. As genetic component is a very important factor in susceptibility to different disease we utilize mouse transgenic models to find treatments for neurodegenerative diseases such as multiple sclerosis, autism, stroke, Parkinson's, etc. All our protocols are in compliance with University of Sherbrooke animal care and use committee.
